CHAPTER SUMMARIESChapter 1. THE 4th OF JULY 1997An anonymous caller informs the police that the missing person, Monika Luise Rizzo, was murdered by her husband and is buried in her own back yard. Police search the yard and find a human skull, detached lower jaw, numerous bone fragments, and body tissue. Searching inside the house, they discover blood on the walls, floor and in the bathtub. Finally, the “missing person” case is solved. Now we have a homicide. But the husband is nowhere to be seen. It seems he left very early that day to go to a BBQ on the other side of town.Chapter 2. WHO IS THE MISSING WOMAN?The missing person, now deceased, was born in Germany in 1953 to an unwed mother. Monika and I convinced the mother to allow us to adopt the child because the Children’s Welfare Department was going to place the child in their custody. I was nearly ready to return to the United States; however, I managed to extend my stay in Europe long enough to adopt the child and obtain a quota visa for her.Chapter 3. WHO ARE THEY?Before Monika Luise graduated from high school in Hawaii, she met her future husband Lenny Rizzo. Against our wishes, they were married in Hawaii and immediately departed to live the life of poverty and unemployment in North Carolina where Lenny could be closer to his parents. They lived there for many years, and then all of a sudden they decided to move to San Antonio, Texas, in 1989, much to our surprise and delight. They went to work, bought a house, kept the two boys in school and seemingly lived a normal life like everyone else. Of course, we were glad that they were living here and not so far away. |
